We are located on the southern most end of the Alps, in the area among Lombardy (Italy), Piedmont (Italy) and Canton of Ticino (Italian speaking part of Switzerland).

We don't provide your transfer from the airport/station on the arrival day and to the airport/station on the departure day.
But we'll give you all the information you may need to get here.

By plane

By train

The area is well-integrated both into the Swiss railway network:

  1. via Gotthard Pass (through Swiss Alps) and via Bellinzona, Lugano, Mendrisio and Como.
  2. via Simplon Pass (through Swiss Alps) and via Stresa on Lake Maggiore and Gallarate.

and into the Italian railway network:

  1. via Milan,
  2. via Como,
  3. via Milan Malpensa airport.

Train Timetables

The railways are operateded by several companies:

  • Trenitalia: national railway company of Italy

  • Trenord: an Italian regional company

  • SBB CH: national railway company of Switzerland

  • Tilo: a Swiss regional company

Remember to validate your ticket in validating machine before getting on the train if you can't buy your ticket on line.

Travelling by train with your bike

You can transport your bike on the train.
If your bike is packed in a bike bag, it is free of charge.
If your bike is assembled, it is free of charge in Lombardy (Italy); however, in Switzerland, you must purchase a ticket, the price of which depends on the length of your journey.

By shuttle service

Let us know your arrival time in Milan Malpensa Airport or in Milan Linate Airport so we will arrange the transfer.
The shuttle service has to pay directly to the driver by credit card:

  1. From/to Malpensa to/from Varese. Van maximum 8 people: 2026 prices to be confirmed.
  2. From/to Malpensa to/from Colmegna. Van maximum 8 people: 2026 prices to be confirmed.

However we suggest the train. You can take the train from Milan Malpensa airport to Varese with connections every hour. (No change)
From Varese station to hotel is a 2 km walk.

Varese

How to get to Varese by train from Malpensa Airport (Terminals 1 and 2):

Timetable Trenord
The cross-border line allows you to get to Varese from the international airport of Milan Malpensa (Terminals 1 and 2) with three connections every hour.
See the route on Malpensa-Varese connection. It's the brown line.
You can buy the ticket both online and at the ticket office. Ticket purchased online or from the Trenord App do not require validation.
From Varese stations to hotel is a 2 km walk or you can get by bus.

Once arrived at “VARESE NORD” rail station (belonging to Trenord railway line) or at “VARESE” rail station (belonging to Trenitalia railway line) you can take the Bus line E in VIA ORRIGONI directed to BIZZOZERO, every 15 minutes approx (on the bus there is the sign “E – BIZZOZERO”).
VARESE NORD” rail station is 450 meters away from bus stop, and there is a underground passage with steps. “VARESE” rail station is 200 meters away from bus stop. 
The ticket is 1,60 euro. You can get the bus ticket on board by credit card (contactless) or cash (the machine does not provide change). 
Get off the bus at the fifth stop BORRI - BUENOS AIRES. It’s the next stop after a ENI-AGIP petrol station (on the right hand side), the Varese hospital (on the left hand side) and a traffic light. 
At the bus stop go straight for 100 metres. The hotel is on the right hand side.

 

How to get to Malpensa Airport by train from Varese:

Colmegna on Lake Maggiore

How to get to Colmegna by train from Malpensa Airport (Terminals 1 and 2):

It's a little bit more complicated. For this reason we suggest to join our Weeklong Tour starting from Varese.
